Predicted point of contact Diagram 2004 . The sun is a big object, and the site where contact 1 will occur is tiny. A diagram showing where this will be in relation to the field of view is a good thing - if you plan to time contact 1. CAUTION this was the 2004 event. The 2012 event will occur in the sun's north. I will post a new diagram soon. Cross hairs in the FOV are needed to locate the contact 1 point with accuracy.
